The project is being implemented to achieve the targeted plan for Assiut Governorate to solve the problem of railway level crossings, serve the city of Mankabad and its neighboring villages, and eliminate congestion at the city entrance. The total length of the bridge, including ramps and access roads, is 1,900 meters, with a width of 16.70 meters. It passes over the railway lines (Cairo - High Dam) and the watercourse of the Ibrahimia Canal. Arab Contractors Company has completed the installation of the main girders for the final steel span of the Mankabad Overpass project in Assiut Governorate, over the Cairo-Aswan railway lines. This was accomplished in a record time of just three hours, without disrupting train movement and while fully adhering to safety procedures. The steel span is 34 meters long, with a total weight of 175 tons. It was installed using a 400-ton structural crane. This is the last span to be implemented in the project, achieved through collaboration between the Assiut branch, the Central Workshops and Factories Administration, the Equipment Rental Administration, and the Heavy Transport Administration.
